Tearing Down Trees In These Testing Times.

45CM CHAIN SAW from Ego.

The new EGO 45cm chain saw is a very powerful chain saw that allows users to cut faster while still maintaining great comfort and safety. The saw cuts at 20m/s which means it can tackle the toughest of jobs in no time. To increase safety and simplicity the new saw comes equipped with an automatic chain tensioning system that takes all the fuss and worry out of tensioning. Tensioning is taken care of by a spring system which is activated by simply turning a handle through 90 degrees.

Even the box it comes in, is impressive. The battery and charger come in separate boxes as they are large, but not heavy.

The chainsaw comes in impressive packaging with good diagrams explaining some things and also showing the range of Ego products.

The battery and Charger come in their own boxes as they are large, but not heavy. The battery is a huge 56volts capable of tackling major size trees.

I have used the Egopower Chainsaw a couple of times on some small branches, but today was a real test of character for the machine.

I had to clear a huge amount of thick ivy which was covering a fence and trees. This was to clear way for a new brick wall to be put up.

You will see from the images the amount of foliage I had to remove. The Egopower blasted through it all with ease. The lightness of the chainsaw allows you to move it around under perfect control. It does not wear you out and make muscles hurt. The machine is balanced again this allows for long periods of cutting without any strain to the body.

What I love is the long 18-inch blade which saws through large diameter tree trunks, branches, and anything that gets in its way. Another useful feature of the Egopower is the No Tool chain tightening. Just twist the large screw/handle on the right side of the chainsaw in the direction of the arrow. The chain tightens immediately, no tools required which to me is a huge positive. Other makes which have to have tools to adjust thee chain tension mean fiddling about and a lot of downtime away from cutting.
