The Bodycam for Bikers, The Eclipse From Recall.

Eclipse Body camera From Recall Technology.

Motorcyclists are increasingly turning to camera systems to record their adventures and film any incidents that happen to them. There are so many recording devices on the market that it is difficult to know which one to purchase. All have Pros and Cons, but I think I have found the perfect solution.

Sadly nearly every ride I have made lately has had some incident that I need to record to cover if the situation escalates. Unfortunately, switching between bikes and often wearing different helmets meant that I didn't always have a camera on every journey.

I was also fed up that helmet cameras offer only a couple of hours of recording which is sufficient for quick social trips, but on extended trips, it is useless.

I then had a brainwave after seeing footage from a Police body camera that using one would be perfect for my requirements. I read about the available body cameras, and the recommendations pointed to Recall Technology. After speaking to the company and explaining my intended use, I purchased the Eclipse camera. It would allow me to switch bikes and still have a camera on my person and also allow me to use whatever helmet I wanted for the ride without faffing about changing mounts.

The advantages of wearing a bodycam are

High-Quality footage capture.

Long recording time.

Up to ten hours. Start recording as soon as you get on your bike and stop when you get to your destination without worry; the recording has stopped.

Long battery time.

Up to ten hours. Enjoy long rides knowing the battery will last the entire journey.

Flexibility.

The Eclipse offers so much flexibility, unlike fixed camera systems attached to your bike or those mounted to a helmet. The body cam provides the ability to change onto clothing rather than on and off bikes or helmets and is a prime benefit of a bodycam. No mounts to switch; clip the Eclipse bodycam to your clothing and go.

It is always on recording and goes with you on your body, so if you have to dismount the bike, it still captures everything. This is not possible with bike-mounted systems.

Ease of use.

Simple recording of video and audio with the press of one button and voice notification that the recording has started.

The Eclipse body camera was initially designed for individuals in the security industry. I believe it is far better than cameras attached to helmets or fixed to motorcycles.

Rubber-coated, it features an integrated LED screen on top rather than an LCD on the back for added "scuffle-protection". Unlike most body cameras with a large viewing screen, the Eclipse condenses the screen down to allow viewing the different settings and options without the need to playback and view videos. The Eclipse is one of the preferred options by security industry professionals and their employers, as it preserves both battery life and video footage as a matter of security, only being able to be viewed back by an authorised user on a PC or MAC

I am delighted with the Recall Technology Eclipse body camera and would recommend it as a better option than the action camera systems available that either mount to your helmet or your bike. The price is excellent, but far better than this is the flexibility and confidence it provides.
