All Purpose Pants From AdventureSpec

AdventureSpec waterproof Single Track Pant for all your riding needs.

If like me you ride throughout the year in all weather you want kit that keeps you warm and dry. The last few months of 2023 it seemed to rain every day, and we had particularly low temps in the UK. I had to make several journies in the early hours and it can be a faff putting on clothing at this time of day. especially if it is bulky and heavy.

I have been testing out a pair of Adventurespec singletrack pants and crickey they got a workout.

waking up at 3 am and you hear the rain thumping down on the roof is not condusive to a grear ride. so you want to be dry and warm for the entire journey not just for comfort but for safety. when you start getting wet and cold part of your brain is concentrating on the discomfort thus taking away full attention of your riding. the colder and wetter you get the more the body and mind focus on this. brain function is impaired, slowing reaction times and thinking processes. A danger to you and everyone else. It could be on a motorway, b road or riding off road when you miss a braking point or don’t lean enough and your off your bike.

To help prevent this buy the best gear you can, it maybe expensive but that is a small price to pay if it works well and prevents an accident due to lack of focus. The gear will probably last longer as well so over the period of time you have it, it will be a good investment.

AdventureSpec believe Light is Right meaning they set out to manufacture clothing that is light and highly efficient. They want it to be able to pack up small so you can carry it with you without taking up space and adding weight to you or your motorbike, cycle or perhaps your horse if out for a trot.

Hiking, walking dogs even skiing and sailing the AdventureSpec Singletrack pants prove extremely versatile and useful.

As well as testing the AdventureSpec SingleTrack Pants while riding motorcycles, I walked my dogs in them, and whilst doing this I performed my squats test. I do this to test the comfort and fit of the product that they allow freedom of movement in the right way with no restrictions to limbs or joints. I do not want chaffing or excess movement with the clothing punching up and causing discomfort. The AdventureSpec Singletrack pants come in various waist and inside leg sizes so you should be able to find your ideal fit. My only gripe is I would prefer a zip fly that opens directly to my tackle for ease going for a wee.

The Singletrack pant forms the waterproof layer of the AdventureSpec ADV layering range they produce covering

Base, Mid, Outer and finally waterproof.

They recommend wearing part or whole of the range depending on conditions you are riding in. You can wear some and carry other layers of clothing as all clothing is light and easily stowed.

Four air vents allow you to control air flow and the degree of cooling you require.

The AdventureSpec Singletrack pant comes with two zipped air vents on each leg, so air flows through preventing getting sweaty and uncomfortable.

Plenty of adjustment at the lower leg to allow for all types of footwear.

Large thigh pockets allow you to secure lots of bits and bobs such as the large smartphones we all carry.

The lower leg of the Singletrack pant has both velcro fastening and a pull strap to secure the ankle area tightly around your footwear. Keeping in warmth and preventing ingress of water.

Features of the Singletrack pant.

Starting from the waist there is an intergrated belt for secure fastening, and a pair of braces is included if you wish to use these to prevent the pants sliding down. All seams are fully taped to insure waterproofing. The fabric is waterproof and breathable with three layers AS-Tex fabric. The two large thigh pockets allow you to carry keys, phones, wallets and bits nd bobs keeping them secure and dry. Long thigh vents allow for variable cooling. At the knees there is Du Pont Kevlar reinforced fabric to protect a key abrasion zone. The lower leg has lots of adjustment to improve the fit over boots or any footwear. An adjustable buckle fastener adds to security and waterproofing.

About AdventureSpec.

AdventureSpec didn’t start out producing clothing for Motorcycling, the founders enjoyed outdoor pursuits and adventures. They climbed mountains, cycled across continents, enjoyed bouldering and hiking. Through these activities they realised the kit they needed to carry must be light and packable. Their philosophy Light is Right became their aim for all the kit they produced and this traverses motorcycling, hiking, walking, cycling, climbing and any outdoor activity. Pack the right gear not all the gear so you are not carrying excess weight.
