The Rolls Royce of Field Sports Knives, Salient.

Salient The Rolls Royce Of Hunting Knives.

In just a few years, Salient has built a reputation for premium quality products, known as the Rolls Royce of knives. In the Garden of England, a pair of Artisans is creating quite a stir in the luxury Hunting Knife market. Jeremy Webb visited the workshop to see the handmade process of creating superior knives.

Salient Knives was established by Marc Engall and Cameron Mcintosh in 2020 after they met on a camping trip with a mutual friend and mentor, Stephen Wade Cox. Marc trained under the watchful eye of Master Knifemaker Wade Cox for ten years until, sadly, Stephen died in 2016. Marc wanted to keep a legacy going, and with Cameron, who has engineering expertise, they planned to set up a company. After five years of research and development, Salient Knives was formed. An apt name because the products are outstanding, remarkable and prominent.

The knives produced by Salient are individual works of art, tactile and tangible; the skill that goes into creating the blades and handles is in comparison to sculptures or fine glassware. They are far more practical and have an application for their use.

Salient Knives are in huge demand as people within Field Sports see friends using the knives and see their quality. It is excellent for the company, and the increase in sales allows them to expand their range. Salient Knives use beautiful wood from England and Turkey and the finest Stainless Steel, so the end product is robust yet light and easy in the hand. Ideal for game preparation and field dressing.

Marc and Cameron trust in their knives implicitly and provide a lifetime guarantee with each one. All knives come in beautiful presentation boxes along with certificates of authenticity. You can understand how they have been labelled the Rolls Royce of Field Sports knives. The same dedication, handmade skill and expertise goes into each knife, like the making of the Rolls Royce cars.

In a future article, I will review the Chatham knife from Salient, which has an unusual twist. It is a self-assembly kit delivered to you, and you put the pieces together following detailed instructions and diagrams. The equipment is being tested at the time of writing, so the processes are simple to follow. ( see my youtube and Instagram, Roadtests and reviews.)

Salient will launch Kitchen knives under the Rochester range later in 2023, which will come in a beautiful leather kitchen roll. The two founders have many more plans to expand Salient's product ranges, so watch this space for reviews of their premium knives.
